His primary focus at Audent is implementing investment and trading strategies to create operational efficiencies and smooth trade execution.
Dan brings 12 years of experience across proprietary trading, financial technology and trade desk operations. Throughout his career, he has crossed different market segments, each with unique products and structure. He has taken on roles from designing investment strategy, building trade flow operations and expanding trade desk teams to scale.
He started his career working in the highly standardized futures market clerking overnight to gain experience and learn strategy from experienced traders. As he quickly gained knowledge, he moved on to trade his own book in Short Term Interest Rates (STIRs), specifically Eurodollar futures.
He built out a successful trading strategy involving the design of programmatic algorithms to dynamically quote and execute calendar spreads and hedge positions further with calendar spreads ultimately into butterfly spread positions.
He expanded his trading strategies to include trading US Treasury future spreads, TED spreads, cash to future Treasury basis, currency futures and options, and European bond futures.
His experience covered many unique market events, trading through Brexit, uncertain election outcomes and tight interest rate environments leaving little room for error to maintain success.
The next stop in his career was at a financial technology startup, Halo Investing, which focused on expanding access to protective investment strategies created by merging complex derivatives with bank issued debt instruments. As an early startup employee, he was required to wear many different hats and expand his skillset on the fly into trading technology and product operations.
As Halo grew with success, his role grew with it. His expertise grew to encompass complex equity derivatives, as well as over-the-counter debt securities. Dan built out a functional trade desk by designing processes for new client onboarding, competitive trade execution and settlement tracking across multiple unique trade delivery paths. He led the buildout of a Broker-Dealer from the ground up to increase efficiency and internalize trade execution.
Dan graduated from Indiana University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting and has obtained his SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. He is native to the Chicago area, where he lives currently with his wife Caroline. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
